AU Women’s Basketball falls to Ohio State 88-79

The Ashland University Women’s Basketball team began their 2016-2017 season on the road, taking on Ohio State in exhibition play.

The #5 Eagles traveled to the Value City Arena in Columbus, Ohio, losing to the Buckeyes 88-79.

Junior forward Andi Daugherty led all scorers with 24 points, also grabbing five rebounds. Junior forward Laina Snyder also added a double-double, scoring 14 points along with 14 rebounds.

The Eagles entered the exhibition coming off a season in which they finished 31-2, 21-1 in GLIAC play.  The Eagles now prepare for the 2016 GLIAC/GMAC crossover tournament.  The Eagles first game in the tournament is Friday, Nov. 11 against the Cedarville Yellow Jackets.
