AU Baseball splits Saturday doubleheader

Ashland University Baseball split Saturday’s doubleheader with the Hillsdale Chargers at Donges Field on Saturday, Mar. 25.

The Eagles were defeated by the Chargers 7-5 in game one, before winning the second game 14-3, and are now currently 9-14 on the season.

In the first game, the Eagles jumped on the board first, scoring in the first inning.  The Eagles led 4-1 heading into the fourth inning, before Hillsdale compiled back-to-back scoring innings.

In the second game, the Eagles bound back offensively, scoring 10-plus runs for the second time this season.  Junior Greg Ludwig hit two home runs in the Eagles victory.

Closing the weekend series at 1-3, the Eagles now prepare for a non-conference matchup with the Cedarville Yellow Jackets.
