Ashland University football got its season going in the right direction with a 66-21 win over Lake Erie in its first game of the season Saturday. Freshman quarterback Travis Tarnowski set a new Jack Miller Stadium record for passing yards (374) in his first game as an Eagle. Three Ashland running backs finished with more than 85 yards. Lake Erie struggled to hang on to the football, as the Eagle defense forced six fumbles and also intercepted a pass.
