Mayoral Debate 3 – Candidates Disagree on Business, Track Record
The third Ashland Mayoral debate wrapped up Thursday night with both candidates representing opposite views on several issues. The debate was live on 88.9 WRDL and on AU TV-20.
Incumbent Mayor Glen Stewart focused on how he can use his experience to lead Ashland out of the recession.
Meanwhile, challenger Kim Studeny Calhoon didn’t hesitate to mention that the hard times in the city of Ashland happened under Mayor Stewart’s watch.
The candidates also disagreed on the city’s image and how Ashland could potentially attract new businesses. Mayor Stewart says the city has a great image, and he expect business to grow.
Studeny Calhoon argues that Ashland’s image is old and stale, and that image isn’t attracting a young, skilled, and educated workforce to the area.
Mayor Stewart and Studeny Calhoon butted heads on several other issues. Tune in to AU TV-20 to watch a replay of the debate in its entirety.
