Ashland Symphony Orchestra presents all Dvořák program
The Ashland Symphony Orchestra will open the 2017‐18 concert season with “Divinely Dvořák” on Saturday, Sept. 9 at 7:30 pm at the Robert M. and Janet L. Archer Auditorium. The program opens with Slavonic Dances, op.46 nos.1 and 8, and op.72, no.2. The ASO welcomes to the stage child prodigy Kevin Miura for Dvořák’s Violin Concerto, op.53 in A minor. The program will conclude with Symphony No.8, op.88 in G major. At just 14 years old, Kevin Miura already enjoys a busy performance schedule and is becoming recognized as a dynamic young artist. Kevin is playing on a 1713 Antonio Stradivari violin kindly loaned by Jonathan Moulds through the Beare’s International Violin Society. In 2016, he won Second Prize in the Junior Division of the prestigious Menuhin International Violin Competition in London, where he was also awarded the Audience Prize.
