Acton resigns as ODH Director
During a press conference on Thursday, June 11th, Ohio Governor Mike DeWine announced that Dr. Amy Acton has resigned as Director of the Ohio Department of Health. The announcement comes as Ohio continues to re-open its economy, and while Dr. Amy Acton was recently sued by restaurant owners and organizers of music festivals.
Lance Himes has been appointed as Interim Director of the ODH, a position he’s held twice previously, under former Ohio Governor John Kasich. Dr. Acton will now serve a Chief Health Advisor.
This week across Ohio, amusement parks, casinos, and water parks will re-open their doors for business. Movie theaters, outdoor playgrounds, zoo’s, and social clubs were given the green light to re-open last week.

According to the Ashland County Health Department, the Ohio Department of Health’s Call Center can be reached at 1-833-4-ASK-ODH (1-833-427-5634). The ODH Call Center is staffed by nurses and infectious disease specialists 7 days a week from 9am until 8pm.
