Ohio surpasses 50k virus cases
During a press conference on Thursday, June 25th, Ohio Governor Mike DeWine announced that the Ohio Department of Health will continue funding the state’s 211 service, a phone service that connects Ohioans to local non-profit and government services for healthcare, food, housing, transportation, mental health, and legal services.
The announcement comes as Ohio moves into a new phase of the state’s Coronavirus response, while also seeing a notable increase in virus cases. DeWine said that while Ohio is in fact testing more people, he believes that the data shows an increase in cases for the 20 to 49 age group that isn’t solely attributable to increased testing. Ohio now has more than fifty-thousand Coronavirus cases. Voluntary mask-wearing is strongly urged.
