Schools to re-open under new guidelines
During a press conference on Thursday, July 2nd, Ohio Governor Mike DeWine announced that the Ohio Department of Health has unveiled several guidelines in order for K through 12 schools to re-open across the state this Fall. Here are the guidelines:
- Vigilantly assess for symptoms (including temperature checks)
- Wash & sanitize hands
- Clean & sanitize shared surfaces at schools
- Practice social distancing
- Face coverings policy (required for staff, recommended for kids 3rd grade and up)
The announcement comes as Ohio moves forward in this new phase of the state’s Coronavirus response, while seeing an increase in virus cases. Pop-up testing continues across the state this week after crossing the fifty- thousand case threshold last week. Mask-wearing is still strongly urged.
