Ohio unveils Public Health Advisory Alert System

Ohio unveils Public Health Advisory Alert System

During a press conference on Friday, July 3rd, Ohio Governor Mike DeWine announced that the Ohio Department of Health has unveiled the state’s newest response tool to the Coronavirus, a county-by-county public alert system. The alert system is color-coded, and provides detailed information and analysis on each county’s spread of COVID-19. Counties will be ranked on one of four levels, with one being “active exposure and spread,” and four being “severe exposure and spread.”

The announcement comes as Ohio moves forward in this new phase of the state’s response to the virus, while continuing to see an increase in virus cases. Pop-up testing will continue across the state this week after the sixty-thousand case threshold was surpassed last week. Ohio now has more than three-thousand virus deaths. Mask-wearing is strongly urged.
