Ashland University Wrestling head coach, Colt Sponseller, stopped by the WRDL Studios on Tuesday, January 25 to give an update on AU Wrestling. According to GoAshlandEagles.com, “Sponseller, now in his second season at the Eagles’ helm, led them in his first season to a Great Midwest Athletic Conference championship, then a seventh-place nationals finish with five All-Americans, after spending the previous five years as an assistant coach at NCAA Division I Ohio University. Prior to coming to guide the Eagles, Sponseller was an assistant with the Bobcats, with whom he coached 19 NCAA qualifiers, one Mid-American Conference champion, one NCAA All-American and three Top 30 National Wrestling Coaches Association (NWCA) Academic Teams.”
