Martha Buckner and Michael Repper preview season finale
Executive Director of the Ashland Symphony Orchestra, Martha Buckner, and Conductor Michael Repper, stopped by the WRDL Studios on Friday, March 31 to preview the season finale for the ASO. According to the organization’s website, “Welcome to this concert of the Ashland Symphony Orchestra! Today, we have the honor of sharing two works of music, both composed during the same years (1906 and 1907). Both feature large orchestras, which were staples of the early 20th century in classical music. Samuel Coleridge-Taylor’s music fuses English compositional tradition with folk music from the African diaspora, and Sergei Rachmaninoff’s Russian style inspired folk music from countries around the world decades after their composition.” For a full list of concert and event schedules, please visit www.ashlandsymphony.org/schedule.
