Dates for business re-openings
During a press conference on Thursday, May 14th, Ohio Governor Mike DeWine announced the re-opening dates for those businesses affected most by closures amid the Coronavirus pandemic.
In accordance with various safety protocols issued by the Ohio Department of Health, the following businesses are set to re-open throughout May:
On May 21st, campgrounds are permitted to re-open to the public. Horse racing can resume on May 22nd, however, Governor DeWine noted that casinos will remain closed at this time. Gyms and fitness centers may reopen on May 26th, while pools can also re-open on May 26th only if they are regulated by local health departments. Additionally, child care and daycare centers are allowed to open once again on May 31st with a reduced number of children and an increased effort towards health and safety. Amusement parks, water parks, movie theaters and performance venues will not re-open at this time and are subject to further assessment by the ODH.

According to the Ashland County Health Department, the Ohio Department of Health’s Call Center can be reached at 1-833-4-ASK-ODH (1-833-427-5634). The ODH Call Center is staffed by nurses and infectious disease specialists 7 days a week from 9am until 8pm.
