Governor DeWine issues Mask Mandate
During a press conference on Thursday, July 22nd, Ohio Governor Mike DeWine announced a statewide mask mandate, which requires all Ohioans to wear masks whenever they are in public. The mandate went into effect last Thursday at 6pm and currently has no expiration date. Some exceptions to the order include those who are dining, exercising, participating in religious services, or those with health conditions.
The announcement comes as the state has seen an increase in virus cases, and is now confirming more than eighty-thousand cases and more than three-thousand virus deaths. Pop-up testing is expected to continue across the state this week, where 23 counties have now received “level three red” designations.
