AU Women’s Basketball beats GVSU in GLIAC Title game

The Ashland University Women’s Basketball team completed their quest for a GLIAC Title on Sunday, Mar. 6th, beating the Grand Valley State Lakers in the GLIAC Title game.

Sunday afternoon, the fifth-ranked Eagles defeated the Lakers 70-53.

Sophomore forward Andi Daugherty led all scorers with 17 points, also grabbing 10 rebounds. Sophomore forward Laina Snyder added eight points, as well as grabbing 10 rebounds.

The Eagles now prepare for the NCAA Midwest Regional round of the NCAA Tournament.  The Eagles will begin their NCAA Tournament run next Friday, Mar. 11th.  The Eagles opening game in the NCAA Tournament will be broadcast live on 88.9 WRDL.
