Mass Gatherings banned until July 1st

As the State of Ohio continues to slowly re-open throughout June, the Ohio Department of Health still urges residents to practice social distancing and healthy habits, including wearing masks in public.

During a press conference on Friday, May 30th, ODH Director Dr. Amy Acton extended the state’s ban on mass gatherings of more than 10. The order will last until July 1st, when the ODH will then reassess the situation. This extension is in alignment with an Urgent Health Advisory that Ohio Governor Mike DeWine has called the “Ohioans Protecting Ohioans” initiative.

According to the ODH,  the advisory “replaces language requiring Ohioans to stay at home with limited exceptions with language that strongly recommends that citizens, especially those who are high-risk, stay at home as much as possible. The order does not change the mass gathering restrictions, which remain at a 10-person limit.”

Information on the state’s plan to slowly re-open the economy can be found online at ODH.Ohio.gov with specific details and statistics found online at Coronavirus.Ohio.gov.
