AU Men’s Basketball beats GVSU, advance to GLIAC Final Four

The Ashland University Men’s Basketball team continued their winning ways, advancing to the GLIAC Tournament Final Four after defeating the Grand Valley State Lakers on Tuesday, Mar. 1st.

Tuesday night, the tenth-ranked Eagles defeated the Wildcats 67-58, and have now won 13 of their last 14 dating back to the regular season.

Junior guard Adrian Cook led all scorers with 20 points and tallied six assists.  Senior center Michael Hundley chipped in defensively with a school-record 10 blocks along with nine rebounds.

The Eagles now prepare for the Final Four of the GLIAC Tournament, playing Saturday, Mar. 5th against Ferris State. With a Saginaw Valley State loss to Walsh in the opening round of the GLIAC, Ashland now has home court advantage throughout the rest of the GLIAC Tournament. Saturday’ game will be broadcast live on 88.9 WRDL.
